Ferric Chloride

Black brown crystals, mostly flaky, belong to the six party crystal system. The liquid product is reddish brown solution. It has pungent odor, relative density of 2.898g/cm3, melting point of 306, and decomposition temperature of 315. In the transmission light, it is garnet red, and the reflection light is metallic green. Partial decomposition at boiling point. Moisture absorption is strong, easy to dissolve in water, methanol, ethanol, acetone, ether and isopropyl ether. Color reaction occurs with phenol. Soluble liquid SO2, PBr3, POCl, ethylamine, aniline, insoluble in glycerol, PCl3 and tin chloride, slightly soluble in CS2. Strong water absorption, water absorption moisture in the air. Ferric chloride aqueous solution dilution, hydrolysis can generate Brown flocculent precipitation of ferric hydroxide.

Mainly used in sewage treatment, metal etching and other industries
1. It has the advantages of easy dissolving in water, flocculation of alum flower is large and heavy, floc formed is more dense than aluminum salt, good precipitation performance, little affected by temperature, wide range of adapted PH. Combined with anionic polyacrylamide or weak cationic polyacrylamide, the sludge dewatering effect is improved, and the cost of sewage treatment is reduced. The treatment of raw water with low oil content has the advantages of good effect and low price, but brings the disadvantages of yellowing of the water color.
2, including stainless steel, copper etching, etching aluminum and other materials, is also used for printing and dyeing roller engraving, electronic circuit board and fluorescent tube digital industrial production etc..
3, the building industry is used to prepare concrete, in order to enhance the strength, corrosion resistance and water resistance of concrete. It can be prepared with ferrous chloride, calcium chloride, aluminum chloride, aluminum sulfate, hydrochloric acid, etc., as a waterproof agent for clay. Inorganic industry is used to manufacture other iron salt and ink.
4. Printing and dyeing industry used as coal dye. Industrial dye used as oxidant indigosol dyes; metallurgical industry used for extracting gold and silver from chloride penetration agent. Organic industry is used as catalyst, oxidant and chlorinating agent. Glass industry as a hot colorant for glassware. Soap making industry as coagulant for recovering glycerol from soap waste liquor.
5, another important use of ferric chloride is etching, etching products such as: glasses, clocks, electronic components, signs nameplate.

First aid measures

Skin contact: rinse immediately with water for at least 15 minutes. If there is burns, medical treatment.
Eye contact: lift eyelids immediately and rinse with flowing water or saline for at least 15 minutes. Medical treatment.
Inhalation: quickly escape from the scene to the fresh air. Keep airway unobstructed. Artificial respiration is necessary. Medical treatment.
Ingestion: gargle immediately when the patient is awake and drink milk or egg white. Medical treatment.
Fire extinguishing methods: mist water, fire extinguishing media available around the fire.

Respiratory protection: dust masks should be worn when exposed to dust. Wear gas mask if necessary.
Eye protection: wear chemical safety goggles.
Protective clothing: wearing overalls (made of antiseptic materials).
Hand protection: wear rubber gloves.
Others: after work, shower and change clothes. Store the clothes contaminated by poison and wash them again. Keep good hygienic habits.
